mental health and wellbeing of young people.

The Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland is pleased to offer an invitation to the above seminar which is being facilitated by Professor David Hawkins from the University of Washington, Seattle. Professor Hawkins research focuses on understanding and preventing child and adolescent health and behaviour problems and he is committed to translating research into effective practice and policy to improve adolescent health and development.

The aim of the event is to support those working with young people to develop practical skills to enhance protective factors and reduce risk factors against mental health and alcohol and drug misuse. We are sure that this opportunity will be of particular interest to those working with young people in a range of settings including: schools, youth, community, Criminal Justice and Further and Higher Education etc.

The event is being organised by the Design for Living Partnership, which comprises of Action Mental Health, Youth Council for Northern Ireland and the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland and is being sponsored by the Department of Health, Social Services, and Public Safety.
