Description:
This booklet offers general advice on the control of tuberculosis (TB). It includes a history of TB, ways the illness can spread, symptoms to look out for and the treatment available. It also answer questions on the BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guerin) vaccination for TB and provides contact details for those who wish to find out more about the disease.

Target group:
General public, especially schoolchildren identified as being at risk because their parents or grandparents come from a country with high rates of TB, the homeless and those who have spent time living abroad in high prevalence TB countries.

This new version includes updated statistics. It is available from the central health promotion resource services and will be issued from maternity units, health visitors and school nurses.
