Published:
HPA on behalf of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, August 2006. |
Description:
From September 2006, a new vaccination is being introduced into the routine childhood immunisation programme at two, four and 15 months of age to protect children from pneumococcal infection. A catch up programme is being provided to protect those children under two who will have already had their primary immunisations before the vaccine is introduced. This leaflet explains the reasons for introducing the new vaccination and which children will need it, and outlines the catch up programme.
