Description:
This leaflet is used to support the Northern Ireland breast screening programme. It is mainly issued by local screening centres with a letter, inviting women in the target group of ages 50 to 70 to attend for breast screening every three years. It explains the importance of screening in detecting breast cancer, what happens at a screening appointment, the issuing of the results, and contact details for the four screening centres throughout Northern Ireland. It also includes details about the Northern Ireland cancer screening website.
