Description:
This leaflet is used to support the Northern Ireland breast
screening programme. It is primarily used by local screening
centres and issued with a letter, inviting women in the target
group to attend for breast screening every three years. It
includes the importance of screening in detecting breast cancer,
what happens at a screening appointment, the issuing of the
results, and contact details for the four screening centres
throughout Northern Ireland. The leaflet is also available to all women through GP surgeries and health promotion outlets to remind them of the importance of breast screening and what they can expect at a breast screening appointment. This reprint includes details about a Northern Ireland cancer screening website resource. |
